Ya, mine did about 5 in a two hour period.  I hooked up my Nighthawk r7000 again.  Might call tech support and see if it does it again.  If if does it again tomorrow, please let me know.  I'd like to use the Portal router, but not if it is a repeating issue.  I

Add me to the list. Very frustrating, especially since Portal support never gets ahead of the issue to explain aberrant behavior once a pattern becomes noticeable... Any these issues usually happen following a firmware update. i would love to be able to (a) save my configuration in a file so factory restore isnt such a PIA and (b) have the option to opt out of firmware upgrades

I wonder if support even views these forums, I would hope someone would see and at least post on behalf of portal.

This is happening to me also.  Seems that the portal is rebooting.  I'll be contacting support.

Was there any (pushed) update yesterday? I don't see anything noted on the official firmware page. That page indicates last update was several weeks ago, yet these incidents started last night. My LED is persistently red, but I do get very brief, intermittent connection. What are others experiencing? I'd bet a factory reset will fix it but thats a PIA to get all settings back (port forwarding etc)

In my case, and sounds like a lot of others, it just randomly resets.  I will be gaming or streaming Netflix and connection drops.  The circle will go blue as if it lost connection to the "fastlanes" and then red back to blue back to red and then green.  It is only off for about 15 seconds or so, but I even plugged my computer into the modem directly and worked fine..

Same problem, when doing Internet heavy activities the router decides to power cycle on its own. I've already ordered a different router through Amazon because I'm not risking gong through a weekend with faulty Internet. Portal guys you need to talk to your QA because this is rediculous.

    Dear Community.

We are aware of the problem and currently we are internally testing the solution.  Once we have completed our testing we will be rolling the the solution out through an update.

    Thank you.

OMG yes! It's been completely acting up since yesterday. PLEASE DOWNGRADE the firmware NOW then investigate AFTER, this is maddening.

    Thanks ;-)

Agree with other comments. This happens too often, and firmware upgrades might offer functionality that isnt of interest. If it aint broke don't fix it. Give me a choice to opt out.

Gordon, can you please roll out a firmware downgrade so we have working internet for the weekend?

I've only had the router for about 2 weeks, is this something that happens often?

I started having the same issue last night except mine never comes back on its own.  I have to physically power cycle it to get it to come back.

So I guess another question is why would it start all of a sudden?  I don't recall a firmware update, is the Portal somehow connected to some backend server?

Mine is working again so hopefully it means they are rolling out a reversion or corrected firmware for all

I have the same problem since yesterday, wasted a lot of time trying to figure a problem with my ISP, Lan cable, devices, not my new Portal.

DISABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want untested updates on my Portal.

Jesus Christ guys, you shouldn't be auto-upgrading router firmware to begin with. As of this afternoon my Portal router is unable to reach the internet, so you couldn't auto-downgrade even if you wanted to. You have left my Portal router dead in the water.

I had the same firmware 1.4.167_prod-1.2.152 when issue started.
Apparently is fixed now but it shows same firmware signature. So, it was a bad response from Portal's servers???
I insist to opt-out from automatic updates
