It's been a long time hope you guys have a great holiday just curious about the update will it be rolling out today?
@Francis
I sure hope so too. I've been stalking the site since yesterday (1/16 was the original date). I'm really looking forward to VPN client support.
Can we get support for more then 2 portals added to the timeline?
Since I can't get a reply to my refund request, I'd like the ability to use all the portals you sold me at some point.
Shawn, I agree.
I asked for a refund since my units are unusable - They completely disconnect from my ISP after a few days and then require a factory reset to work again. I got no reply.
So I am sitting on three white paper weights.
I agree as well! I have been unable to use the product as I need IPv6 and port triggering in order to use my portal fully. Also the development effort has slowed significantly to bring the product up to its advertised capability.
Sad really, as the product held a lot of potential and I am very disappointed and frustrated.
I would encourage anyone having problems with their portal to open tickets and try to be as technical as you can in the problem description. I've found their tech support is willing to go much further than other companies to help. It may take them a while, but it helps to give them something actionable. I wound up providing packet sniffer captures that they could share with their engineering and it looks like they figured out the problem.
Did VPN client support make it into firmware version 1.2.115? I can't seem to find it.
My portal did indeed update to 115 but none of the features listed in the release notes are there. Is this a GUI thing or am I missing something ?
@Marc
Interesting. Yes, the features are in the web UI. I only had a few minutes to check them out this morning before I left and saw all of them except the VPN client. I'll poke around later.
Yesterday, all was working fine. Green ring. This morning all three of my meshed routers are indicating blue? What's the issue?
I have the same problem with my units - they are connected by powerline and both are serving my Netgear as bridges. The point is they worked after the update but now both show blue status!
The setup page indicates all that you have to do is unplug the routers, wait thirty seconds and plug them back in and they should turn green. My curious mind begs to ask the question " why did they switch from green to blue?" "What happened?"
i did not do a thing and now they are green again!
I give the suggestion of disconnecting and restarting a try - mine did not come back to the green status!
I went from blue to green then back to blue - after about 3 min - it is now green - thanks - patience does work...
DDNS do not update server on DYN.com -> is there Something special to do ?
Can I make a few requests:
Thanks so far!
Wow, I have been waiting for months and months for Port triggering and IPv6 support and the latest timeline update just crushed that as it was supposed to be delivered this month. So disappointed in this product and the portal team, it is time to move on...
I know some of you are upset but at least we are seeing some fix and improvement even little by little they are not abandoning the development. We can't expect them to be like ASUS or any well known company that has been making router for a long time maybe for those who are being upset just use your old router for the meantime if the features are that really important for some of the people.
I also want to point out that though the current implementation seems simplistic, the features actually work. Unless you are talking about a business class router, most "complex" features implemented on a consumer router do not work well or at all. Keep the faith.
VPN client support almost there! Can't wait guys :)
I understand the implementation is a little slow and I'm SUPER happy with my Portal. I do want to ask if the timelines were unrealistic though? Should I be adding a day/week/month? I know it says latest release should be today, but I know that Portal will only release what WORKS instead of what "works" because they've made a solid product. So I look forward to this being a great new update soon
So the update was pushed back until Monday, 3/6.
I also received a notice from IDL that Portals are on sale on Amazon.com (basically, Kickstarter prices). I might be interested in a third for my 2nd floor if IDL guaranteed that you could setup a third Portal in Mesh. If they ever get that feature, that's when they should have a sale.
Just wondering if the firmware that was scheduled for release today (3/6/17) been pushed out yet? I haven't seen anything on my Portal yet and it's still at Portal-1.4.136_prod-1.2.115.
I don't think there has been an update from 115 yet - my Portal is still 115 on morning of 3/7.
Nothing yet this morning (I also rebooted my Portal to see if that would trigger an update). While I understand delays are inevitable, a quick update from the Portal team - even if it's just a simple one-line notice - on the website, would go a long way to assuage those who are eagerly waiting.
@DavidTay, FWIW, when they say 3/6/17, that means the week of 3/6/17. As such, they have the entire week to deliver the update and be on time.
@Jeff Uberstine - Ahh! I didn't realize that. Thanks for the clarification.
PS - They should add the "Week of ..." in front of the timeline entries. :)
I received the update from 115 overnight; now I get a problem with the certificate when I try to use the web interface.
Try manually rebooting. 115 was released in early February. Mine shows that 136 was installed last night.
My 136 still gives certificate error on web interface, before and after manual reboot.
