Guys, I understand the need to patch a critical vulnerability-- but could you please provide advance notification, *before* you remotely upgrade my router firmware? I need advance notification if you're causing an outage as I am often supporting enterprise-scale clients Linux environments at 2AM from home.
Thank you.
Jack,
They never give a specific time / date for the upgrade, you'll be lucky to get a general idea of the *WEEK* of the upgrade.
The router should have an option to disable automatic updates, or to enable them in a specific time.
Also, the improvements on Web GUI still lacks so many functions like: Backup/Restore settings, disable automatic scan channels
Is this implemented? https://www.usenix.org/system/files/conference/atc17/atc17-hoiland-jorgensen.pdf
