How to connect and configure your Portal Smart WiFi Router with Singtel’s broadband network
STEP 1 – Attach Portal to your PC or notebook computer
- 1.1 Using a cat-5e Ethernet cable, connect one end to the Ethernet port of your PC or notebook and the other end to one of the Ethernet ports (1,2,3,4) on Portal.
STEP 2 – Launch your web browser and access Portal’s administrative menu
- 2.1 You can use any web browser such as Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.
- 2.2 Portal’s administrative menu is defaulted to http://192.168.8.1 This is entered in the address bar of the browser.
- 2.3 Portal’s administrative menu is password protected. The default Password is password. After typing password into the Password bar, hit the Enter key or click on Log In.
- 2.4 The administrative menu will now be displayed.
STEP 3 – Configure your Portal
- 3.1 Singtel requires that VLANs be used for some of their services. Select the Service VLAN tab from the menu on the left.

- 5.1 Configure the service that Singtel is providing.
- For internet service:
- Internet service VLAN 10
- IPTV service VLAN 20 – connect mioTV to Portal’s Port 4
- Enter or select the table values highlighted
- For internet service:
STEP 6 – Customize your Portal and WiFi network
STEP 7 – Attach your Portal to the ONT or modem
- 7.1 Power off both your Portal and the ONT or modem.
- 7.2 Connect the WAN port of your Portal to any of the available LAN ports using the cat-5e Ethernet cable included in the box.
- 7.3 Connect power to your Portal.
- 7.4 After your Portal’s status LED is red (O), connect power to the ONT or modem.
- 7.5 Once the ONT is online, Portal’s status LED may turn blue to update its software (O) over the internet. Once the LED is a steady green (O), your Portal has connected to the internet and your WiFi network is working.
STEP 8 – Attach your MIO TV Set Top Box to your Portal
